This was not an easy show to make. It wasn't the show's fault. It just happened to fall on an extremely difficult day. There was the freakishly unseasonable 90 degree heat. There was the intestinal distress. There was the just receiving bad news/going through a difficult time. And then there was the worst of all... the editing. I can't believe we're still married. If editing this show didn't have us racing to divorce court, we are truly meant to be together forever!

Fabulous! Stop with all of the disclaimers sister - no need for them. You are a professional and it shows. I would have NEVER known you were puking, etc... etc... Wonderful job, wonderful idea, fun to watch, wonderl hostess and wonderful editing. I loved the part where you suggest Brittney get a show. Totally enjoyed watching, you tied everything in, I could go on and on. I couldn't come up with criticism if I tried. EXCELLENT job. Can't wait for more. CONGRATULATIONS on a job professionally done!
I'm glad she got to really explain the whole concept. I was always kind of turned off by the charity party idea because I know how much Gavin LOVES opening his own presents, but I can totally see having a family party with gifts and then another charity party for friends. Then the child gets both and I really like that.

Ladies- I am going to pass that long to Britney, who will be thrilled to hear that. She really hopes this idea influences some other moms and dads out there. That's the only reason she even agreed to be on camera! She hates being on camera.
what a great segment. No, I could not tell you were feeling that ill. You really need to market these segments to the local tv stations to see if they would consider picking you up one day a week or so. Fabulous. Thanks to you and Britney for the great party idea.

I don't understand why you aren't already on television! I can see you on local TV and I can also see you hosting a show on HGTV or TLC. Someone give this woman a show!

ROCK ON Mae!! And seriously STOP the worry!!! Just do the show that you love and put it out there. It's great. And I love this idea.
I do a lot of work with World Vision and 2 years ago my friends 5 year old said that he wanted to have a World Vision birthday party. He wanted everyone to bring money for World Vision instead of gifts. He made up the invitation (with a little help from mom) and they had a great party. The kids went swimming and had plenty of junk food. They raised $400 and his mom sent it all to World Vision as special gifts for the 2 kids they sponsored. Then World Vision took care of making sure they got things like a BED and clothes for school. Can you imagine your kid not having a bed? Sheesh.
Anyway, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea and you did a great job on the show. The nice touch was showing your kiddos and all the toys before showing the footage from the party. Excellent.

Jen, would you like to be my agent? No, seriously, I need one. The one here in town passed on me, saying I just wasn't talented enough.
Louanne, you are right. I have to stop worrying. I am not doing a show for network TV. I cannot be held up to that high of quality standards. I am so so relieved to know my horrible mental and physical state did not show on camera. I see it, but I am glad others are not seeing it like I do.
That shot with me and the children crawling around me was the worst. I wish I could do a re-take on that. I hate how I say certain words. I was rushing just so I could go lay down for a minute. HEY! Now I know I can work through just about anything!
I love the feedback, keep it coming, please please please! It helps me grow as a talent and a wanna be producer.
I'm with Katie: Disclaimers were entirely unnecessary. Your professionalism and talent in all production elements completely erased any hint of what may have been bubbling under. Ship these very crisp, high production value segments to local and cable TV decision makers! You have IT!

Great show! Many people I know want to be charitable but don't feel like they're in the financial position to do so. Obviously, you don't need to be! Keep it up, I look forward to watching more shows as they are posted.
Great show and I LOVE this idea!!! We haven't hosted any birthday parties yet (we've just done family celebrations so far), but when we do, I am definitely going to use this idea. What a great way to teach children about giving back. LOVE IT.
Keep 'em coming and I'm sure people who hire for television will take notice.

i am going to echo everyone else's sentiments. stop apologizing, get that info about a a tv producer not looking at you and all the other negative things, off this blog!! it reeks of insecurity and you have nothing to be insecure about!!! for what it's worth, i am not a mutha :) and i like the second episode much, much better than the first b/c it is informative about something that is not such an obvious thing. i think focusing your efforts on more unusual topics is best. also, focusing on charities, social responsibilities of children, teaching your children how to be giving and caring, (when you can) and other important topics like that, integrate great parenting advice inherently, into your program, and will probably get you more attention. i have a great idea (ok, i may be the only one who thinks this) which i will email to you! keep up the great work!
